Southwell starts outside. The cedar-clad exterior sets an expectation that the interior has to answer — you can’t put white lacquer cabinets in a house that looks like this. So Forma didn’t. The cabinetry throughout uses a warm, natural wood grain with genuine character, the kind of finish that reads handsome rather than flashy.
The kitchen keeps the palette grounded: white cabinetry for the perimeter, a dark walnut range hood that pulls the warmth of the exterior inside, and matte black fixtures. The pendant lighting — bold, angular, distinctly mid-century — suits the character of the space exactly.
